Gary Klar = Great Guy!

I met him a couple weeks ago at the con in Jersey City. He was so enthusiastic about Gospel of the Living Dead - really wanted to chat about it and seemed so excited. But you never know with people, whether they'll follow up, or whether they're just being nice at the con. But he called today and we had a long chat on the phone about the book, which he'd obviously read! Way to go! He says he never uses the Internet, so I guess he won't see this, but if you see his name as a guest at a con, make sure to go up and talk to him, and trust that he's a really sincere guy who's actually listening to what you're saying and if he says you'll hear from him later via phone or mail - you will!

I know this is so true! Gary gave me his phone number and email a few years ago and kept in touch with me after we met and discussed my writing. He even agreed to come out to a roller derby bout that the Penn Jersey She Devils had that same weekend! He's a real sweetheart and a true gentleman!

but you're YOU Robin! You make always make a good impression! Me - not so much! So for him to go out of his way to call ME - that was the mark of a great guy!

He's on of my favorite parts of Day of the Dead. It's a film I often have to defend as my favorite, but I never seem to have to defend his performance / character.

Awww, you make me blush. I wish I always made a good impression instead of sticking my foot in my mouth, but I guess I do better face to face. Anyway, Kim I always enjoy seeing you, and even though we have hardly got into any deep conversations I have to admit I wished I did spent more time talking to you. You're so quiet at the conventions! I have a feeling I need to get you to open up and find out what the REAL Dr. K-Paff is all about! LOL!

We haunt the same venues, although the past year has been rough for me, but I look forward to seeing you again soon. I'm sorry that I missed the Saturday Nightmares Convention in Jersey City. I was supposed to attend that. There will be other times. Are you doing Monster Mania?

I've never been to that one, Robin. I'm planning on MoCon, HorrorFind, and HorrorRealm. And (even though it doesn't look like it from that list) I'm trying to cut down on my travel. I really spent too much last year.

Oh wait, I think you were at Chiller, am I right? I was invited to go to that one too by Lenny Lies but couldn't make it. (I had just came home from the hospital again. The big "C" has me by the ass!)

I won't be making it to Horror Realm. Too many neg vibes there unfortunately. I'll be focusing on east coast venues from now on, so perhaps we'll meet again someday.
