About Me
- Name: KPaffenroth
- Location: Cornwall on Hudson, New York, United States
I am a professor of religious studies, and the author of several books on the Bible and theology. I grew up in New York, Virginia, and New Mexico. I attended St. John's College, Annapolis, MD (BA, 1988), Harvard Divinity School (MTS, 1990), and the University of Notre Dame (PhD, 1995). I live in upstate New York with my wife and two wonderful kids. Starting in 2006, I had one of those strange midlife things, and turned my analysis towards horror films and literature. I have written Gospel of the Living Dead: George Romero's Visions of Hell on Earth (Baylor, 2006) - WINNER, 2006 Bram Stoker Award; Dying to Live: A Novel of Life among the Undead (Permuted Press, 2007); Orpheus and the Pearl(Magus Press, 2008); and Dying to Live: Life Sentence(Permuted Press, 2008).

Wow... so let's see. 200+ total subs, 41 on the last day... Stupid math! That's a little under 25%?
Quite a few people waited until the last minute, it sounds like (if my math hasn't failed me completely).
It's a lot more than 1/30th, I can see that!
An interesting question will be how many of those final 41 make it beyond the first cut and then into the anthology and if it is a higher percentage than those submitted before the final day.
On one hand, it's the idea of taking every last second to polish the idea - on the other it's the desparation of an approaching deadline.
Errr...I hate to ask....is mine at the end of the queue? I know I had to resend it cause it was in the wrong format - I'd really love to check that you got it (and apologise again for sending it in the wrong format!)
That's incredible!
I suspected as much. People are still reporting to Duotrope and they have you reading stories in order as well. Today, they write that you are reading stories sent as last as August 31st.
You remember being in college, right Kim? Time remaining x effort equals a constant. And so as time goes to zero, effort goes to infinity.
