Ruth

I think she will be my favorite literary creation so far. At first, I had liked the kid characters in my novel the most. But now, their slightly evil, mostly misunderstood mother stands out in my mind. Adulterous, vain, calculating, and manipulative. At first, she was kind of a villain w/o much to do in the story (the ghost provides the problems, not her), but now I see more of the story as involving her redemption.
