I am a professor of religious studies, and the author of several books on the Bible and theology. I grew up in New York, Virginia, and New Mexico. I attended St. John's College, Annapolis, MD (BA, 1988), Harvard Divinity School (MTS, 1990), and the University of Notre Dame (PhD, 1995). I live in upstate New York with my wife and two wonderful kids. Starting in 2006, I had one of those strange midlife things, and turned my analysis towards horror films and literature. I have written Gospel of the Living Dead: George Romero's Visions of Hell on Earth (Baylor, 2006) - WINNER, 2006 Bram Stoker Award; Dying to Live: A Novel of Life among the Undead (Permuted Press, 2007); Orpheus and the Pearl(Magus Press, 2008); and Dying to Live: Life Sentence(Permuted Press, 2008).

She's a nice contrast to Olbermann, who has hates BillO so much that he's become the opposite side of the O'Reilly coin.
Not sure I'd say she's sexy, though. But she is well-prepared for her interviews, asks thought-provoking questions, keeps her guests on track, segues well into different topics and makes the show lively throughout the whole hour. Basically, she's what CBS was hoping Katie Couric would be when they tabbed her to anchor their fossilized evening newscast: Professional.
She's not cute and cuddly (like Couric), but I'd say sexy. Look at her smile. And smart women always shoot way to the top of my sexy rating, based on their smarts.
But wow, leftist news analysis, done on MSNBC? And not shrill or buffoonish? That's a keeper.
I haven't caught her act on MSNBC yet, but I really liked her on Air America. She used to have an a.m. drive-time program called, with a nod to NPR, "Morning Sedition".
Agree with Viva: A little Olbermann goes a long way. It's nice to hear the right wing get what they give, but pursuit of payback shouldn't be a defining personal mission. It makes you become what you most despise.
That's how Olbermann seems when I'm channel surfing: suddenly I come across one nut who's saying stuff I agree with, so I watch it a minute, but I keep thinking, "Man, that guy is off his nut!"
She's a babe.
