At a guess, and of course deferring to the Doc's superior knowledge and expertise, I'd think procrastinators would end up in Purgatory if they're at least feeling guilty about it :)
I think Christine's correct. The closest to the category would be the "late repentant" at the bottom of Purgatory. Their punishment (appropriately) is to have to wait.

I am a professor of religious studies, and the author of several books on the Bible and theology. I grew up in New York, Virginia, and New Mexico. I attended St. John's College, Annapolis, MD (BA, 1988), Harvard Divinity School (MTS, 1990), and the University of Notre Dame (PhD, 1995). I live in upstate New York with my wife and two wonderful kids.
Starting in 2006, I had one of those strange midlife things, and turned my analysis towards horror films and literature. I have written
Gospel of the Living Dead: George Romero's Visions of Hell on Earth (Baylor, 2006) - WINNER, 2006 Bram Stoker Award;
Dying to Live: A Novel of Life among the Undead (Permuted Press, 2007);
Orpheus and the Pearl(Magus Press, 2008); and
Dying to Live: Life Sentence(Permuted Press, 2008).

Any chance of letting us know what date you've made it up to?
08/25/08
Oh man, I sent mine on the 26th. At least it's almost over either way.
Thanks! I guess I've still got a bit of waiting to do.
Wow. Based on my math, looks like you got a lot of last minute subs.
May the force be with you and stuff.
Question: approximately how many stories might be in the anthology?
And thanks for keeping us informed.
It's always about 20, though there's plenty of wiggle room, depending on the length of the stories.
I wasn't a last minute person. Mine went in on the 29th.
Okay, so I'm not an absolutely-last minute person.
It's been a long time since I read Dante. It there a level of Hell for procrastinators? Possibly it's still in the planning stages?
