Room Temperature Gin

No, no, not what I'm drinking, gentle reader. One of my characters, silly! Funny how we always make our characters get drunk on something nasty, like they never have a bottle of something good sitting around, with some tonic and ice. That's not very nice of us, condemning them to bad booze and hangovers.

I'm remembering the scene with the perpetually smashed teacher in Sarah Langan's The Keeper when he's scrounging around for something to drink. She really hit the tone and perspective just right.
