Reviews in academic journals always take way longer than in popular print, and I just got an advance copy of the one that will appear in The Journal of the Fantastic in the Arts (Winter 2008). Here is part of the second paragraph:

Does Tony Williams explore the spiritual themes in Romero as well?
As I recall, he includes the social criticism stuff extensively, and has a lot more stories about the filming and comments from the people involved in making the films, but not the specifically religious dimension.
And I should note - it's a very good book and I used it extensively. It also has the advantage of exmaning Romero's non-zombie films.
