Spidey 3

Don't know what to say about this one. Way too much going on for way too long. All of the plot lines are worthy, but that makes it all the more disappointing when you're yanked away from one to go catch up with another, or when two crash together just because we need to resolve them. "Quick: I need to get rid of Bad Spidey Alien Licorice Goo! Oh, good, a bad guy just happens to be hanging around right where I am so I can fling Bad Spidey Goo on him!" And bad Spidey is kind of ridiculous. Toby/Peter is already just barely acceptable as nerdy guy turned CGI hero, but as bad-boy-dancing-gigolo-friend-murdering-lady-slapping-psycho-w/o-a-conscience? No. But, the fights are A++ and this from Sam Raimi, who's never disappointed before. And, you know, deep down, I really like the "You always have a choice" moral to the story. It's probably one of the most hackneyed in comics, but it does work. And it's true, I think.
